Abstract

Who, why and how are public security policies formulated and implemented in the country? Why do governments (national or subnational) adopt certain policies/programs? In recent years, answers to these questions have become increasingly urgent, given the critical public security scenario in the country. Therefore, spaces for research debates that address this topic from the perspective of public policies are essential. The dossier “Public security: behavior of political and social actors in the formulation and implementation of public policies” brought together articles, reviews and interviews that sought to contribute answers to these questions and whose arguments are based on theories and based, to some extent, on evidence empirical. We believe that the research gathered here can support public management, in order to guide the course of the trajectory to achieve the objectives intended by the policy.
