Abstract

The article proposes to analyze the voting orientation of age groups from a qualitative approach carried out with voters in the Muahivire neighborhood, in the city of Nampula, Mozambique.. Theoretically, the research is based on the perspective of the Social Action Theory, which assumes that every social phenomenon is the result of actions, attitudes, beliefs in general of individual behaviors inspired by understandable reasons from a social and historical point of view in who signs up. Having triggered the survey through semi-open interviews to voters who voted in the presidential elections held in 2019, we sought to understand the meaning of the orientation of the vote. The research suggests that the voter orientation of voters interviewed linked to socioeconomic factors, such as unemployment, massive corruption, poverty and political disorder linked to military conflicts in the central and northern regions of the country, which undermine effective peace.
