Through an attempt to understand some socio-cultural and economic conditions that populate the universe of production and consumption of commercial musical and video-musical content emerging from geographically and symbolically peripheral contexts and disseminated on digital platforms, we seek to present certain forms such as the architecture of contemporary platforms for the dissemination of cultural content articulated to a neoliberal cultural logic impacts the ways in which peripheral starting points find conditions to position themselves from the point of view of the violent competitive game for space and relevance in networks. In this sense, we understand these different positioning possibilities based on the idea of using different resources — or “peripheral capitals” — by consumers and content producers who leave this “place” on digital platforms. Conditions and resources that can both enhance subjectivities and peripheral trajectories in the cultural markets in Brazil and present themselves as limits to them.
